Frequently Asked Questions
“Seeking counseling can feel like a big decision and finding the right fit is important. I’m here to make it easy for you, so we can focus on your needs.”
-
I will ask you to share the reasons you are seeking counseling at this time. I will describe whether and how I can help you. The call also gives you a chance to ask me any questions and for us to see if we are a good fit. If we decide we are not a good fit, I will be happy to provide you with referrals for other therapists.
-
I see clients in the office or for walk and talk sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Telehealth (video) appointments are available Monday through Thursday.
-
The fee is $150 for a 55-minute session.

At this time, I am not contracted with any insurance companies directly. This means that you would pay me directly after each session. I would then provide a receipt for my services, known as a “superbill”, for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you would like to use your insurance, please verify your benefits with your insurance company before we begin our work together.
Here are some questions you might like to ask when contacting your insurance provider:Does my plan include out-of-network benefits for mental health?
What is my out-of-network deductible? How much of this deductible has been met already?
Are sessions with a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) covered under my plan? (I am licensed to practice in Connecticut; my license number is 27.002195).
How do I submit a claim for reimbursement?
If I submit a claim, will I be reimbursed for the full amount I paid or a portion?
How long do I have to submit a claim?
-
This will depend on your specific needs, which we will discuss during the consultation call. We will also discuss what feels most comfortable for you. Some of my clients prefer to walk rather than sitting in my office or meeting virtually. Others choose to meet in the private space of my office. Some clients combine office-based, virtual, and walk and talk sessions, depending on their needs (and the weather!).
